So, this is Olivia and she’s my brothers…wife’s sister. Isn’t she beautiful? Yeah. She’s 14 years old. When she was born she was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. My sister-in-law told me that she gets made fun of where ever she goes. Her family and friends are really the only people who are there for her. People like this shouldn’t get neglected just because they may look a little different on the outside. Just because she spends most of her day in a wheelchair, doesn’t mean that she deserves to be made fun of. She may not be able to walk, or talk as well. She may need a little help every now and then, but she still has a heart, just like every single human being in this world. Some people are cruel, and call her retarded. That’s not true. She’s the brightest girl I’ve ever met. When I met her for the first time I seriously almost cried, she was so beautiful and so inspirational. Olivia recently told me her favorite song was “Born To Be Somebody”. It fits her so perfectly, because this world can make her feel so small. Olivia’s here, and she’s here to stay.
